24th May 2013 - VH-OQJ QF94 Los Angeles Technical Return.

A380 VH-OQJ operating QF94 Los Angeles - Melbourne (depart Los Angeles 23rd May) returned to Los Angeles early this morning around four and a half hours after take off. The diversion seems to have been technical.

QANTASLink Boeing 717-200 VH-NXN, which has been out of service at Brisbane since 20th May causing cancellations on the Queensland QANTASLink network, positioned Brisbane - Adelaide this afternoon as QF6200 returning this evening as QF6201.

23rd May 2013 - VH-TJI Canberra Engine Issue.

Boeing 737-476 VH-TJI operated QF818 Melbourne - Canberra this afternoon, then experienced an engine issue which caused the cancellation of the return QF819.

Former JetStar A330-200 VH-EBS departed Manila late tonight on delivery to Sydney as QF6026. The aircraft is now in QANTAS New ‘Roo livery and will now operate for QANTAS Domestic.

15th May 2013 - QANTASLink Announces Two Class B717-200 Subfleet.

QANTAS today indicated that Two Class QANTASLink B717-200s will be introduced on the Canberra - Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney routes once the B737-400 fleet has been retired. This will be a subfleet of five airccraft and will also be fitted with AVOD. The 12J/156Y Boeing 737-800s are regarded as having too much Economy and not enough Business Class seats for many of these services.

Boeing 737-838 VH-VXR, which has been under maintenance at Brisbane since 10th April, returned to service this morning operating QF798 Brisbane - Cairns.

15th May 2013 - New Zealand Approves QANTAS/Emirates Alliance.

New Zealand today approved the QANTAS/Emirates alliance meaning the two carriers can now codeshare on each other’s trans-Tasman services and permitting through codeshare operation from New Zealand - Europe.

Boeing 747-438ER VH-OEF, operating the Brisbane - Sydney leg of QF8 Dallas-Fort Worth - Brisbane - Sydney returned to the gate at Brisbane due to a starter motor issue. The aircraft was able to fly Brisbane - Sydney as QF8 later in the day but by then all passengers had been transferred to Domestic services.
